drop the z bar set up and out a hydraulic set up in there. clear any header then!

I would agree but not a fan of hydraulic I like the feel of the old stuff.

I have a hydraulic set up and use a Howe hydraulic throw out bearing. Makes it a simple set up and I didn't like how close the header was to the slave cylinder.

Ok here goes i have been trying different headers and they dont fit. And no one seems to be 100% certain on which will fit. I have a 84 Cutlass sbc with angle plug heads and factory manual zbar setup. Seems to be a problem finding headers that work with both. Tried hedman shorties no go. Tried flowtech shorties they hit the frame. Now i think I will go long tube. Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

not really sure than i have hedmann headers but i dont think that will work with the zbar setup try this link it might help you out though viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2372

A lot of header manufactures say you have to run a cable shifter when using long tubes. i think on manuals you have to use shorties. idk if you can fit mid length or not

Lol. Seem to grow by the day. Just scored another Cutlass supreme today. Not sure what to do with that one. I should just sell them all and buy a new Dodge challenger with a Heminand put a pro charger on it and call it a day.

I have heard that the shorty style headers in the g body to small block chevy are a pain in the butt to work with I am going to run long tubes just because of that problem

Well finally got a set of hearders that fit with just a few minor dings needed for clearence. And yes they work perfect for angle plug heads and the factory manual zbar setup. I went with a set of Patriot H8047 appear to be very well made all flanges are nice and thick. So if you want to run a sbc with angle plugs heads and a zbar these will work for you.
