so so far i have gotten the drivers side header in
took me about 2 hours of cursing and trying different things
needed to take oil filter off and oil pressure sending unit as i have the ralley pack
had to unbolt the motor mount and jack the engine up approximately 2-3 inches then it slipped in from the bottom
then bolted it up and was looking at clearances and f*ck the oil pressure sending unit port is completely blocked by one of the primaries but i see i can move that to by the distributor, but the header has to come out to plug it lol
but they do look good and i do like wrapped headers

wow, that's alot of work🙁 let me know how the other side works out,Thanks .

well it would have not been a lot of work if i just started at the beginning of lifting the engine
got to remember i am also just working on cribs no lift
so passenger side is in
just need to relocate the oil pressure sending unit
put my spark plugs back in
hook up ignition wires
put steering shaft back on
put power steering pump and ac compressor back on
i did make a spacer for my power steering bracket and also i modified my ac bracket to work

Have never had to lift the engine for any install - the secret is to get the car as high as possible and I mean higher than just a floor jack will get you

What about the Hedman Headers "shorties" I have heard on this site they are like mid length. How is the install on those?Anyone know? thanks.

so i got my headers in
11104flt
had to remove the starter and lift the engine about 3 inches and slid right in
just need to button everything up and start her up

Cool🙂 My motor mounts don't line up for some reason🙁 I don't really want to lift the engine up again. Where did you buy them and how much.Thanks.🙂

i bought them from a local speed shop here in winnipeg
motion performance
i dont remember the price but it was very comparable to summit racing and the exchange

The hedmans i put on my sbc were easy as hell to drop in from the top...obviously they dnt have the size of full tubes which helps. Hardest part was pulling a couple plugs to drop them in, and reinstall the plugs after but thats a common thing when putting in headers. I know when i ran the hooker long tubes i had to jack the car way up to get them in, bang on a pass side primary to clear the frame and control arm! The exhaust just has to be fabbed from the collector back which requires an extra bend but any decent exhaust shop can make it look nice!
