Hi Gang. I have a '78 Malibu. Single headlights. 3 wire connector. Passenger side was out, and I found out why. Two wires of three snapped from the back of the connector. Green wire intact, tan and black wires broken off. Now, there are only two ways this can go back together- a 50/50 shot right? I can make an assumption, but I am usually wrong 80% of the time on 50/50 shots. My assumption is that the tan wire goes across from the green on the connector, and the black ground wire goes at the top of the plug. I only want to wire this once, so I hope I can get some advice. Here's some photos:

Any help would be appreciated!

The pigtail is only about $3. I just want to make sure I hook it up the right way. My luck the car would have one high beam and one low and start turning in circles. I'll check the other side, thanks. Hadn't thought of that!

Difficult to see the wire coloring on the other side because some idiot painted over the wires when I spray painted the engine bay 🙂 i had it wrong, which proves my 50/50 80% theory. The tan wire is on the top and the ground is across from the green. Not intuitive to me. Why don't they include a pin diagram with the new headlights?

Thanks Fleming442 for the simple solution!

You can also hit a junkyard and cut the connector out of a junk car. Get about 8" of wire and splice it together. I wouldnt do it that way because Im an anal pain in the butt but its just an option. LOL
