Couple years ago I upgraded my montes headlights with h4 headlight kit ,builds , housing. One of them just burnt out on me , so I went with the bright blue bulbs, higher watts. A Day later I was pulling up to my house my headlight went out and the bulb connectors where very hot. Next day did some research on internet, looks I need a relay kit for them? Any buddy else have that problem? Or where to get a kit? , got lucky headlights came back on next day, havent driven at night yet

yes you need a relay harness for hids or h4 bulbs because they draw more watts.. common problem also is bights will comeon also. picl up a relay harness on ebay for ten bucks its all plug and play and you be set..

H4 bulbs don't require any more power unless you get higher wattage bulbs. It's only when you move into the above 60w rating that you need to get a seperate harness with relays.
However a harness and relay system will make your stock or 60w bulbs a little brighter.
(Some newer cars can get away with 75w bulbs using the stock headlight harness but the G-Body doesn't look like one of them)

This is as cheap as I would go with a harness. http://tinyurl.com/n5ovdkw
There's a few things I'd change on that harness.

1. I'd change out the relays with a 40amp unit from Hella or Bosch. You simply can't trust cheap relays!
2. There may not be any fuses before the relays. I'd add one for sure. Something like this http://tinyurl.com/mu8x94b
3. Those don't look like ceramic plugs for the bulbs. Higher wattage bulbs create more heat and will start to melt the plastic on a regular connector so those have to be ceramic.
You can get something like this http://tinyurl.com/kzl5p8j and take the wire out of the connector and reuse it if you're carefull.
4. Take it apart and solder all connections.
5. Cut that NASTY yellow shrink tubing off :wtf:and go with black sheathing.

I suspect it's about the same as the Putco 230004HW sold for $26 on Amazon.

I'm going to be changing my H4 60/55W bulbs over to 100/90w. Everything I've seen says 12 awg should be fine, but I'm going with 10 awg to minimize voltage loss.
I like overkill when it comes to power loss and wire diameter. I built my own POS and NEG battery cabels using 2/0 gauge HD Welding Cable and have several extra ground straps.

I purchased the Putco one I listed above off of fleabay for 15 bucks shipped to my door.
It states right on the package good for 100 watts.

I snipped the ends off of one of the main power and grounds and found they are only 16 AWG.
100 WATTS SCREW THAT! Stay away from the cheap harnesses for that power.

For stock or 75 watts it's ok but after that NO WAY!
