headlight switch bracket

I have a '84 Monte Carlo and am in the process of swapping in a NOS dash and will also be adding Auto Meter gauges in the doghouse area. I need a new headlight switch bracket as mine is broke, like most do...and I'm wondering if I can use the bracket from the 86-88 ones. It looks like both brackets have the same mounting points....

The brackets will interchange but I think the headlight knob sits closer to the faceplate. The 86 to 88 cars used a smaller headlight switch knob.
