I’m new to the forum. I have been using since I got my 86 SS in May. I am currently still trying to figure why I have no headlights. Changed all lights. All connectors and the switch. Have brake lights but no lights. Dash is ripped out and I found a few wires not connected. The guy I bought from said he was trying to race the car. Any help would be great.

Randal, welcome to GBF, from Seattle, Wa. '78 Caballero, and '79 El Camino.
The dimmable panel lights are supplied by the gray wire. Door jam switch, dome and footwell lights often have a white wire and an orange wire. IIRC, the wires to/from the dimmer switch connector on the side of the steering column, are yellow, green, and brown. If previous owner swapped (or tried swapping) the instrument cluster, you might have to re-pin the connector. The pin locations are different between a gauge package cluster and a warning light cluster. Pick up a year specific service manual if you are able.
