Hey Everybody,

I was a (very happy) member of the forum a few years ago. I joined when I picked up my 79 Malibu. I found the site very entertaining and useful when looking for advice or information about my G.

Unfortunately, the I got transferred to Bogota, Colombia for the last three years of my career, so I packed up my Malibu, shoved it into my brand new shop (literally finished the day before I flew out to Colombia) and off I went for three years. MAJOR BUMMER!!

Anyway, I have been back since May of 2016. I got the Malibu out of the shop, prepped her for the road and drove for about a year. Made a few changes to improve performance and have been pleased with the results. Had top take her off the road several months ago due to some non-related issues. Right now shes sitting off top the side, in front of the shop. Hopefully next week I'll have the time to get her started up again and do some of things that need doing.

I couldn't find or remember my old user name so I created this one. ( Don't get old it ....... "What was I saying??"

I'm posting a few picks at the bottom of this post. Some of the looong time members of the forum may have seen a couple of them. (I just found out that if you click on the Thumbnail it open to full size. Imagine that!)

That's a great looking Malibu.
It does look vaguely familiar. No A/C, huh?

Welcome back! It's good to have you back aboard.

Thanks all.

Correct, no A/C, which is difficult to deal with down here. However, there is a company that I found (have to find them again now) that sells A/C units that mount completely inside the dash. Nothing under the hood but heater lines and hi and low a/c side lines. Last time I looked the unit was around $1300.

I've got some minor rehab work to do on the Malibu. This car has no rust anywhere except a small spot the size of a dime on top of the right front fender near the grill. However, the car was actually put together from two donors, one of them red. You can see some of the red in hard to get to spots and it drives me nuts. Getting it all straight by fall is the plan for this car.

I also have an 84 Camino, that needs some minor body work. No rust, just some small dents. Need pretty much a complete interior repair or replace. I have a really nice 383 ready to put together for that one. It already has a real strong 200-4R. This one is going to take most of next year to finish. I'm doing it second because it will be my daily driver and while I don't feel the need to do a frame off, I want it the way I want it and that's gonna take some time (and unfortunately, some money)

Anyway, thanks for the welcome.
