Hello all...

I own a 1987 Buick regal with factory buckets, center console, t-tops. I'm currently in the process of swapping in a 4.8/ 4l60e with a couple of stock bolt on items. I will be doing a semi-grand national clone. Mostly focusing on the exterior features...

Just wanted today hello and thanks in advance for all the information I'll gather from all the fellow g-body owners!!!

Welcome aboard!
Keep us informed on your LS swap progress.

Welcome to the forum . how hard is it to put a 4.8 in a g-body? I've been toying with replacing my 4.3 with one.

So far everything is going straight forward but I'll be working on the fun stuff today which are the headers and modifying the stock regal cross member. These should be the biggest obstacle if any.. Will let all know how it turns out...

We'll be tuned in, man.
What did you use for an oil pan, and what are using for headers?

I'm using the stock Truck Oil pan. It hangs about 2" below the cross member but I don't plan on the lowering the vehicle so I should be fine. Headers are the pacesetter long-tubes from a F-body.
This is all with the non setback adapter plates and SBC clam shell mounts.. Transdapt part# 4572

A little information for everyone I found out while doing my swap.

I'm using the Transdapt part# 4572 stock location mounts with SBC clamshell mounts....
I'm swapping in a 4.8 / 4l60e in my 1987 Buick Regal... Stock truck oil pan.

F-body pacesetter headers work... Driver side goes in smooth. A little dinging on the lower part of the #2/4 primary on the passenger side and shave a little bit of metal on the passenger side a-arm and it'll go right in.

My stock crossmember worked. I just had to mark and re-drill a hole for where the transmission mount bolt goes through.

You will need the smaller power steering pump pulley to clear the gear box.

Driveshaft will need to be shortened.

I'm using a grandnational fuel tank/ sending unit....

Hope this helps anyone thinking about the swap!!!

Thank you for the information. It's always good to get it first hand.
Looks like you have it all under control. Lookin' good so far. 8)
