Hi everyone,

I just bought a 84 cutlass. Im picking it up tonight.
This looks like the place to be for a Gbody owner.

Ill post some pics and details about the car tomorrow.

Congrats, good luck with it, if you need any help or just have questions be sure to post. And I don't mean to say I know that much, but there are alot of people here that have been working on these cars for a long time. I gotta admit, I'd be lost on a couple of things without them. :D

Thanks for the welcome

Just got it home about an hour ago. I gotta say I really happy with it.

No motor or trans. The body is really strait and the interior is nice.
Im planning a LSX swap, and my wife said we could get the stuff for the swap in a month or so. Hopefully Ill have it on the road soon.

I have had a g body before, back in 01 I had an 87 T type for 4 months and it got stolen :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
Ive been craving another gbody since.

You can get a steel colar that fits around your column. The newer ones can be left on so that you don't have to take them on & off everytime you drive the car. They are usually brightly colored so the thief sees it before breaking into your car. Might not have saved your 87 T but its saves your car most of the time because most of the stolen gbodys come from broken colar. Its easier for the thief to just move on to another. I had an 88 Cutty stolen that was recovered and involved in a sting that resulted in the bust of a very large theft chop shop ring. You can search my username on montecarloss forum and find detailed info on doing the swap. Its still pricey and involved by the time the swap is complete but the end result can be very cool.

there were a few things I would have done differently with the T, but nothing I can do now. I will be doing some security mods to the cutlass.

I have been following a few swap threads on ls1tech.com, I think I can get it done in the 5-7K range and Ill try to do most of the work myself.

I still have a lot of research left to do and Im down for reading any bit of info I can find.

Just a scanned pic of the T

Ill try to get some good pics of the cutlass but its crowded in my garage right now.
