I would check the MAP sensor and the coolant temp sensor. It will be hard to diagnose with out a scanner, but you can measure resistance and voltage.

Absolutely a ScanMaster FIRST, then proceed fwd.
First thing I would do is install a vacuum gauge on it at a good vacuum source.
See what vacuum reading you get.
A stock LC2 TR 3.8 should pull 16-18” of vacuum
If your getting a low reading, you need to check, double check, and triple check ALL VACUUM lines.
These cars a notorious for rotted cracked vac lines.

Read this site inside and out!!! Don't just chuck parts at it. Get a Scanmaster to monitor knock. I bet your gas is sh*t. That's where I would start. Make sure you have fresh 93 in there.
