Long story short I swapped out the original v6 in my 81 olds with a sbc. Injured my hand and lost track of the build.

Months later i need to wire the starting/charging system and drawing a blank on the mess of wires. In retrospect labeling everything before would've been the way to go.

My Hanes manual isn't any help to
Me either.

I've included pics of what I think are the wires I need for starter/alternator/ignition etc.

Wires behind brake booster in IMG 2062 look like the wiper motor wires.
Not completely sure on IMG 2063
IMG 2064 again look like the wiper motor wires.
IMG 2065 looks to be connections to alternator
IMG 2066 look to be wires to connect to starter
IMG 2068 look to be sending unit wires?
IMG 2069 looks to be the connection to BAT terminal on distributor

IMG 2063 seems to be the harness running to the fuse block against the firewall under the hood
In that case,
The pink wire is for the bat terminal on the distributor
The red wires go to the starter
The purple wire is the signal for the starter
The tan wire is for the oil pressure switch
Two of the green wires are for the coolant temp. sensor

I can't see any of the other wire colors there, these are just the ones I know off of the top of my head.

In your starter harness with the red wires should be a purple wire. It will go to the small post on starter solenoid closest to engine block. If there is another small post on the outside of the solenoid, nothing goes on it.

I appreciate all the info guys I'm just frustrated with the whole thing

I snapped a few more pictures just because I don't have anything else to go off of to sort it all out

The hose under the brake
Booster and the wires that are taped to
It. I'm unsure of

The two red starter wires have some sort of splicing not sure if that connector is essential to my getting the engine running.

In the 2nd to last pic as most have said pretty sure the Orange is for distributor. The other is a pink wire with no connector.

Obviously electrical and tracing wires isn't my strong suit. Might go find one on Craigslist just to see where everything goes
