well...i dont have the figures to dispute your post, but I have owned both cars, and the 70 olds was a lot heavy, and it still handled fairly well, despite the weight. With the 350 from that car in the Gbody, the handling is not bad, even though the engine sits higher in the bay and the car is taller overall by a few inches. Ive driven my current car pretty fast on some pretty curvy roads, and it handles very well... No doubt, lowering it and stiffening the suspension would help a great deal, but at a severe cost to the ride quality, which Im not willing to pay. I prefer the smoother ride most of the time.....just sayin....pontiacgp said:the weight of the 442 is about 200 lbs heavier then a G body but the track of it is about 4" wider than a G body and that really helps with the handling. I have the 67 A body rear and that's only 2.5" wider and it was very noticeable. There is also a few other things in the front clip that make it handle better than a G body. Some guys will use a front clip from that era and stick in a G body stock car but they are always caught..
first thing you have to do to a G body is fix the roll center so it's not 8 feet out of the car...
