get some 16x8 zq8 wheels with 245/50 all around. I can vouch for UMI's great products i have their swaybars front and rear, and boxed RLCA's and tubular uppers.

I found a set of the 15x7 olds wheels that I like so I think I am gonna grab those.

I am also thinking about getting these ... http://www.umiperformance.com/catalog/i ... cts_id=401

and.... http://www.p-s-t.com/s.nl/it.A/id.7004/.f?sc=12

and... http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1978-88-G ... 32841.html

and lastly i need some sort of lowering springs but im not sure yet how much I am gonna need. I am gonna wait for the new wheels and tires and then load the suspension x amount of inches until im happy with the ride height and tire clearance

I was thinking about doing UMI's suspension kit 1 but I already have life time warrantied shocks on the car and they are still charged.

How do you guys feel about this combo so far? Like I said im not trying to road race here but I want it to be better than what it is now lol.

Thanks again!

As for the Stage kits on our site, we are happy to add or delete items as necessary. The kits are just a starting point. We've sold anywhere from "just springs" to an entire car's worth of stuff...

Just let me know what you need.

thanks!

Perfect! thanks for the heads up. I will definitely be getting a hold of you guys when the time comes. Im moving into a new place in a week or two so the car isn't really the top priority right now (sad i know 🙁 ....) Thanks for all the guidance so far. What do you guys think of these tires for a street/strip deal with some handling being considered?

they will be mounted on either those 15x7 olds wheels or possibly the SS wheels off of that monte carlo parts car im picking up.

Hello,

Although we are new to being a sponsor here we have been doing G-Body parts for a long time. We can put together a great kit to help your car handle great.... Here are the current parts offered for your car.

The Speedway lower arms do not have the holes to accomodate factory style rear sway bars.

I saw that today about the lower control arms not having the holes drilled. I guess I can measure the holes on the old ones and just spend a couple minutes in front of the drill press.

gbodys are smaller, lighter, and often the power to weight ratio is better, depending on the power plant under the hood. So...its safe to say, that w/F41 suspensions on board, they really should handle as well, or even better than that 442... (although the 4speed didnt hurt with the power slides  )

the weight of the 442 is about 200 lbs heavier then a G body but the track of it is about 4" wider than a G body and that really helps with the handling. I have the 67 A body rear and that's only 2.5" wider and it was very noticeable. There is also a few other things in the front clip that make it handle better than a G body. Some guys will use a front clip from that era and stick in a G body stock car but they are always caught..

first thing you have to do to a G body is fix the roll center so it's not 8 feet out of the car...
