steubenville, oh
finally found my culprit. the little spacer for the rear sway bar.

are these things supposed to have rubber bushings or something in them? i want to get this fixed asap, it's driving me nuts

i don't think they do, im sure someone will correct me, but your control arm bushing are probally cooked too

i have poly bushings to put in, i'm just waiting until i find a new differential so i can do everything at once.

i think i'll just crank down those bolts to see if i can keep those spacers from rattling

If you are sure that's where it's rattling, tightening up the bolts should cure it. There are no bushings in there -- just the bolts pinching it together.

It's hard to tell from all the way over here, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the rear sway bar is probably not the source of your rattle...

Like I said, it's hard to tell from here, but there are dozens of spots that could rattle in the back of the car (shocks, springs, bushings, frame, bumper, etc...). Unless you can move the sway bar by hand, I doubt it's the cause of the noise.
