HELP new carb, won't start

"It doesn't seem to have spark." That makes more sense. Non-CCC distributor? I test them by removing from the vehicle and hooking it up as if in the car, the cap separated from distributor. I then take a large gauge wire from the battery ground and position it about an inch from the coil button in the cap. Spinning the shaft by hand should get you a huge spark. (best I've gotten was a foot long lightning bolt!) If not, your module may be bad, try a new one since everything else is new.

OK thanks to everyone for the help. It's always nice to have multiple perspectives. I took the distributor cap off and everything looks good. My mechanic advised me to try replacing the ignitor so I will do that tomorrow. Just to be sure that there is no spark I would like to pose the following question. I tested for spark by pulling the boot off one of my plugs and attaching it to a spare plug (for a lawn mower type engine). I laid this plug on the intake manifold and had my brother turn thet key. Is it possible that the intake manifold didn't provide a ground? It has some blue paint on it still but I figured the spark would be strong enough to go through that.

That's not a very good test. Stick a bolt in the boot and hold it near a GOOD ground. My method is better ^^^^.

if your holding the plug and not the boot, yes...but the rubber should prevent you from getting shocked. Just so ya know.......40,000 volts hurts, but wont kill ya.

You Gotta have Fuel , Compression , Spark . If you can't get that.
Then it's going to take some, Luck and Or Skill to get this solved.
If you don't have the experience or the means to find these three things.
Then You are going to have to seek out the help of someone you know that can help you.

Thanks for all the help guys as much as I wanted the satisfaction of getting this thing running again myself I have decided to get her towed to my mechanic. I'm a computer science major and I can't afford to allow myself to get too distracted until the semester is over. Then I will be doing a lot to the car.
