New guy seen some positive and helpful comments on here even for the guys like myself who likes big rims, but love and respect the value of a true muscle car! Need some tips on how to get more power without going so deep in my pockets I've already went! I started this project about 2-3 years ago its a 1987 Cutlass Supreme with T-tops has basically all the options the 442 has as far as ttops, dash, console etc. Looking to get some more HP to tear up some 24s lol I've started with the big stuff and replaced the 307 with a Rebuilt Chevy 350 out of a 73 Caprice I added some headers and dual exhaust! Also put a new Turbo 350 trans from Jegs in with a 18-2200 stall converter. Recently I've added a Posi rear end out of a cutlass I think it has a 2.7 gear in it? Other work I've done is replaced floor boards added dynamat, undercoated, got a bs paintjob which is getting changed, and upholstered interior! Thats pretty much everything  but now I'm looking to add some quick HP without hurting my pockets too much I'm getting restless I want to bring it out this summer I haven't drove it really since I bought it cause I want it to be complete with some power and give people something to look at when I hit the streets! Some things I've thought of off top: Better Gear? Aluminum Raditor with electric fans? MSD Ignition? Lift Spindles for my lift??? Thanks Gbody Fam Help me out!!!

Sounds like you have everything going in the right direction, EXCEPT, the rear gearing. I would definately get lower gears. 355 or 373 would be good. I would go no higher than 308s. Your gas milage will suffer but it's obviously not a daily driver. Good luck.

if your posi is a 2.7 then you can go as far as 3.08 stock gears to use on that carrier. Personally I like the 3.08, that's what I am running

Thanks man I appreciate it!

ya best bang for your buck will be rear gears. You could run 3.73 or even more aggressive with wheels that size and likely still be fine on the highway

Thanks thats what I've been hearing the most to do! But whats the difference between the 3.73 and the 3.08?

How bout a bigger cam. A hydraulic set from wouldn't cost too much, if you do your own install.

The difference for you is that you'd have to get another posi carrier. Your carrier is a series 2 and anything from a 3.23 and down you need a series 3 carrier

Ok so the 3.73 should go right in? Thanks
