If it were me I'd try the 2.73 gear you have in it now and if you don't like that then try a 3.08. Corvettes with an auto transmission came with the 2.73 rear. You have a 3 speed transmission so trips on the highway with a 3.73 it would be revving too high in my opinion. I have a 5 speed stick so I like the 3.08 cause it gives me longer gears and it takes off quick enough for me.
Sometimes you can get gears that were not available for you carrier by getting a thicker ring gear. Call the boys at zbag.com (zumbrota bearing and gear) and tell them what you got and see what they can do for you. I had 2.29s (i think or 2.27 whatever it was) and went up to 3.42s for my 7.5 inch. They are based out of minnesota and have awesome stuff. Also, don't skimp out, buy the bearing kit.

Ok thanks! I think I'm getting recommended the 3.73 cause of the 24 inch wheels I was gonna put on it cause I still want performance and a fast take off!
