Bought some cheap vinyl to see how I felt about the whole woody issue. Bear in mind this was a quick and dirty install, so it's not perfect. Everybody seems to like it...heck, I might even keep the Pontiac nose on it if I go this way.

No, it's the production Bonneville nose

I hated my Bonneville nose. I swapped an 81' Lemans nose on, much nicer. Just because I AM an old man, I don't have to drive an old man looking car!

That 81 nose looks good! Very Trans Am-ish (that's a good thing, right?)

I don't really care for the single lamp Pontiac fronts, but that would definitely be doable.

Anybody have pics of a wagon with a painted rear bumper (not roll pan)?

Who else was hesitant about clicking this thread? One could have been acused of meat gazing!

But anyway....I say keep the wood, keep the front end. I'd rather have something that's not so common. It will grow on you eventually, nonetheless make for an even better sleeper if you decide to do something interesting with it. Lose the wheels and put some nice Pontiac rallye II's on it. Then you'd have a kick-*ss combo with the wood.

I think your wagon looks great with the wood. The 81 nose is my favorite thats why I held off my resoration of my 81 and bought a second 81. If the funds are there one of them will be a woodie.
