Wading River Long Island
Hey, my names Josh, im 21 and from wading river ny, i'm new to the site but not so much to G-bodies, oldsmobiles or older cars for that matter. my first car and love of my life is my 71 Cutlass that i'm slowly restoring. as far as G-bodies my familes the original owner of an 86 442 thats nicely optioned and all original but has been sitting on the side waiting for attention. I also own an 87 Cutlass Salon thats in decent condition, ive never seen a cutlass so optioned out (everything except power seats and power trunk as far as i can tell, other than that it is decked out). i also have my winter beater; an 86 GMC full size jimmy... anyways, i recently decided on keeping my 87 (i couldnt stand to sell it after over 3 years of dependable service and becoming an extension of myself) for me and my brother to work on, hes 16 and is in BOCES for autotech and figured it never hurts to know too much and thought i'd join the site for feedback, opinions, parts and most importantly help and helping others. well thats kind of me and my cars in a nutshell.. thank you -Josh R.

snotrocket71,

Welcome to the site! It's nice to hear from people that have their heads on straight! Mentoring your younger brother is something you can be proud of! You've set an example that he will more than likely adopt and pass on. IMHO, you're a man mature beyond your years, your parents should be proud!
Have two have fun building cars!

Doug

Welcome 😀

thanks for the warm welcome. cars is about the only thing me and brother can agree on, we both love Oldsmobiles although he has a soft spot for fox bodys where as im not a ford fan by any means. as far as my head screwed on straight, i dont know too many 21 year olds with 3 cars and barely a pot to piss in, but i try and love my cars to death so thats all that matters in the end.

welcome ! nice to see another New yorker LOL

yeah, massapequa parks kind of a hike from me, then again everythings a hike from me. i'm off of exit 68 on the LIE, near the shoreham nuclear plant (sore subject for everyone in the area). anyways, do you go to the bald hill car show at all? or flowerfield in smithtown?

thank you, pictures to come once i pull them off my camera

Welcome aboard Josh!
I once rode a bicycle with a couple of friends from Brooklyn out to Wading River. That was many years ago.
Of course we camped out at Wading River State park. Very nice out there.
