Hi everyone.
Just joined the forum and wanted ot introduce myself.
I just bought a 79 Malibu. I have been looking for the right car for about 7 years. I bought a 78 Malibu project car about six years ago but it was more than I could handle. (No shop. Still no shop but building one this winter.) I gave it to a friend. We will make it a street legal bracket racer somewhere down the line.

I finally found one in North Carolina that had most of what I wanted and was in my price range so I made a deal, flew to Ashville, Norht Carolina, picked up the car and drove it home to Baton Rouge, La.. Car has a 4.10 rear and a turbo 350 trans. It was 1,100 miles and sixteen hours on the road and I loved every minute of it.

Anyway, I have had the car for a week now and it is both more and less than I was hoping for. Most of the major stuff is done. However some of it will have to be done again. The car is solid, tracks straight and with the exception of paint has most of the expensive stuff already done.

I'll post pics and an overview of what's been done tomorrow evening.

I did some work to the car today. It was getting late when I finished so I washed the car and took a few pics.

Thanks!

The car is "Mini" Tubbed. The frame rails were notched to make about 2" more room for tires. The back tires are 275 60 15s on 8" rims. When I bought the car it had 4" rims on the front with 185 70 15s. Nice setup for the drag strip but pos for the street. I have a set of 235 60 15s on 7" rims that were on my Camino before i put magts on it, so I put a couple of them on the front. Handles much better and i like the way it looks.

I'm about to do a MY Project post on the General tab. Over the next few days I'll put mor pics, what's been done to the car and what my plans are for the future. I think I'll call it Max's Machine,

Please take a look when you get a minute.

Looks great!
Welcome aboard.

Welcome here to GBF!! Nice looking 'Bu 8)

I took some shots of the interior yesterday.

I have been working on the car when I can. I created a post in General Discussion called Max's Malibu.
If you're interested in how the car is coming, that's where to look from now on.

Appreciate all of the great feedback and answers to questions.
