I've been lurking for a while now and thought I might as weel sign up for the fun. Working on two Camino's right now, well actually only one an 82 SS. I've got a 79 but when I took the body off the frame I found a lot more rust than I'm ready for. Here's a pic of the 82. I've been playing with the G body platform for a while now hope to contribue where I can.

welcome

what's the plan for the ss?

Thanks for the welcome. Plans call for a pretty much stock bodied, stock interior(which is going from dark blue to grey) and a 325 horse 350. I'm thinking 200r and a 3:42 or 3:73 rear. My son's got a 81 Malibu coupe that we're playiing with for a little more power, 8) so the Elky will be more a driver.

Here's a quick pic of the boys car just before we covered it up for the winter. He's 17 years old he helped me build it the first time about 3 years ago. I tried to sell it but everybody wanted it for nothing, so I talked to the wife and we gave it to him for his 16 birthday. He put a 375 horse 355 with a TH350 and 2500 stall and shift kit this past summer(all his own money, he works 3 jobs). We still need to change out the rear(stock one wheel peel 2:73). After driving it for half the summer he now wants more power(here we go). 8)

MORE POWER!!! 😀

If it is a true 375hp, I think he would be surprised what a 3.73-1 posi would do for it. A 700r would give you even better acceleration and OD to boot. More power is good too :!:
