I know this has been beat to death, but I’ve searched and haven’t really found what I’m looking for. Has anyone successfully installed real bi xenon hid projectors in their car? The projectors with the correct cut off, and high beam solenoid. Not the cheap reflector kind that blind traffic. I’m working on installing a mini h1 projector assembly into the fiberglass 4x6 with glass lens. I think I will be able to get it done but maybe there’s any easier way.

Yea I got real ones in the elco, but they're part of the 2016 camaro nose swap. I thought years ago I saw a company that sells the true morimoto parts selling a retrofitted 4 x 6.
If there really isn't a proper model ready to go, then doing what you're doing is the way to get what you want.
Better ain't always easier.

I made some progress. If the projector assembly was 1/4 longer it wouldn’t fit, without modifying the headlight bucket. I have it all the way into the headlight bucket as far as it will go. It’s kind of ugly, I’ll get better on the next one. I might use jb weld or Silicone to fill the gaps on the back side. I had to buy two sets of headlights because I couldn’t get the glass lens separated from the headlight without destroying it. I saved the lens from one set and the headlight body from the other set. I couldn’t find a plastic 4x6. That would be way easier to work with. I have around 100 bucks invested.

Thanks I’ll probably just do the low beams for now. since the hids have lows and highs. I’ll still have 4 high beams. 4 hid on highs would be wicked though. You got me thinking now.

I ended up using some high temp fiberglass tape to seal the gaps. I was going to use fiberglass cloth and resin but it’s a really tight fit in the headlight bucket, I was afraid the fiberglass would be too much thickness. I painted the housing metallic silver.

Looks good, I like my black housings but then the projector would just blend in. Gotta show off all that work

Looks good. I dont have any personal experience with messing with HIDs in that sense but I know I have read that HIDs create a lot of heat and you have to be careful when trying to use an assembly not made for HIDs. Not saying you will have any problems, I would assume that would be the only issue on doing such an install
