Does anyone have any experience with converting a G body over to be compatible with the high positive offset wheels like the ones that come on late model Corvettes and Camaros? What I'd like to do is complete the conversion by swapping out as many parts from the salvage yard as possible.

Even if you got the wheels for free the cost to physically widen the stance of a Gbody and convert it to fit those wheels without any adapters or spacers would be astronomical, you would be better off getting some custom made wheels or find a similar style with the correct width and backspace.

I wouldn't use spacers in the rear if your planing on driving hard on it. But you can use a 10 bolt of of a 709 a body. They are 4.5 wider overall that might be wide enough to make the wheels fit. You would have to use a umi A body 10 bolt to G body 4 link kit. There's a post on here. The poster accidentally bought an A body rear and is looking for a Gbody rear you might be able to trade.

For the rear easiest way is to put a different rear end in the car. The front is nearly impossible without huge spacers. If you do run spacers upgrade your lug bolts to ARP studs and buy high quality Billet spacers. Unless you are dead set on a specific wheel and It doesn't come in an offset that works, it is usually about same cost to convert everything as it is to have a custom set of rims made.
