just installed angel eye headligts on my car, with h4 bulbs. i love the way they look and they were so cheap, the only thing is right now i have 55w hyper white bulbs in but they dont really make a difference. can i put 100w bulbs in or will it cook my harness? im getting an actual h.i.d kit soon, but in the meantime i need to see.

100w will fry the harness. Seen it a few times, u need to upgrade the wires or use a relay for it. Relay is preferred.

The HID kit prob won't be as good as u think. Most kits that u can find are cheaper kits that aren't really designed for auto use. Vibration problems and short life span.

Watch what u buy.

yea, i figured as much. my buddy has h.i.d's in his monte, but he dropped almost 400 dollars on it. they look amazing coming down the street though, you see the lights and expect a brand new lexus, instead you get an 80's chevy and cam 2 burning out your eyeballs. lol

You can go with higher wattage bulbs but...

You do need to put a relay harness in to drive them. Even stock headlights can see an improvement by using a relay harness.

I'm running Autopal lenses with ~94W bulbs and am very happy with the lighting. Many times better than stock even though my bulbs are pointing down too much Gotta readjust them one day.

There are some harnesses available from the parts stores pretty cheap but I'm not impressed. They use thin wire and it has a PVC coating which is not meant for underhood use. It isn't very resistant to oil grease and heat.

I made my own harness from 14ga GXL wire which has a thicker insulation than the regular TXL wire. Since I made mine I started offering them on my site. If you are interested shoot me an e-mail. I don't have any built right now but I can build more and I can make all the wires any length you want.

If you want to build your own harness shoot me an e-mail if you need a hand with firuging it out or if you need any odd parts like relay sockets etc. I'd be glad to offer advice.

I'm also going to start building whole new headlight harnesses and tail light harnesses. They will use some different connectors from stock as OE is not available and I am using better connectors than stock in many cases.
