Threw a little caddy together today. This is a similar concept to the ones you buy off the tool trucks. It gives you a portable place to toss tools and small parts while working under the hood. Height is adjustable so it works on an RX7 or lifted F250. No welder required.
Material list and costs:
-caster base from an old office chair ($0)
-2 1' lengths of square stock ($3.58)
-1 16" length of flat stock from scrap pile ($0)
-3' piece of electrical conduit from scrap pile ($0)
-2' piece of 3/4" gas pipe from scrap pile ($0)
-6 compartment tool organizer tray from HF ($6)
-1 3/8 bolt ($ who doesn't have one of those floating around?)

Bent the square stock pieces at a 90* and smashed the end of the conduit. Drove them together.

Glued them into the grooves on the bottom of the tray using AutoMix. Also glued on a strap to stiffen it.

Drilled and tapped a hole for the height adjustment lock bolt.

Slip it all together.

Kinda tough to see with all the crap in the background. Sorry for the poor pics. I also bought a $3 magnet bar from HF but haven't decided if I'll use it or not.

This thread needs MOAR LOVE!

I just finished this rotisserie with my new welder. 11g steel 2" tubes. Not super heavy duty but works well with the bare body.
