Yeah, I don't miss Connecticut bugs, ice storms, and poison ivy...
The carp are out-eating the native fish in New Mexico. No bag limit on carp. And you are specifically told NOT to throw them back.

Are those things even edible? I heard in Ohio they have tournaments to see who can kill the most. I like the gutters on the shed idea. I just built two steel sheds and piggy-backed them to get one big one so I could stuff all my car crap in them and free up my real garage. A gutter along the roof facing the garage would be a nice touch. I figure the other side would help water the grass I just planted.

When I moved to my new house, I took the almost-new tin shed with me. I unbolted it into three big pieces, and trailered it over here. Then I built an 18" knee wall on the original floor and got some help lifting the sections into place. I had to build some doors for the front, but I got an extra layer of shelf space, plus I can walk in there and hang bikes from the ceiling.

It was meant to be temporary, and then life evolved. If I could wave my magic wand, I'd have an extra 50 feet of yard with a five bay shop in the back corner.

Every car guy/homeowner eventually finds the need for more storage space, and I'm no different.
After procrastinating several years (and waiting for funds to allow), my dad and I finally built my shed last year. My circumstances were kind've unique as I only had a 9' space in between the garage and the neighbours fence in which to fit it. I didn't want to go with a cheapie pre-built unit as I didn't think any of them would be big enough.
So we built it IN PLACE 8'-6" wide (to allow 6" for the gutter) by 12' long. Was a royal PITA 'cause all the walls had to be prebuilt complete with tarpaper and siding and then carried into place and fastened. I got a bit carried away on the front and gave it a fake brick finish to make it look kinda like a little cottage.
Lol
Turned out pretty good tho, lots of storage space inside for lawnmower, winter tires and of course car parts.
Oh, and it even has skylights in it so I don't have to run power out there for lighting. 🙂

The sunflower seems to like its new home, even if its held up with a zip-tie! The vines are in the trash can. I like their new home.

Love this post!!!... My post would need to be: Homeowner - HEALTH - Hobby Balance 🙄! 1) - Home - All our doors (front and back doors & storm doors) and all of the house windows have been replaced (including a 5ft. x 10ft. Bay window in the living room). ... I drew up plans and got the permit to restructure the roof framing for proper ceiling joists (the living room and dining room was the garage and breezeway and only had rafter ties and a suspended ceiling!). ... I will also be installing a 1/2 bath next to my small home maintenance shop in our basement. 2) - Health - I'm slightly closer to my 69th Birthday than my 70th. and after going over 15 years without seeing a doctor, my wife finally talked me into seeing a doctor. After about 3 years of poking, prodding, and testing to get a "health baseline", my Doctor decided to move back to his hometown and left! My new Doctor needed to poke, prod, and test to verify my "health baseline". During that time, I got a couple of "false positive" readings (ECG/EKG and stress test) and a follow up Colonoscopy, but, tomorrow will be my annual blood test and I'll be UP TO DATE! 3) - Hobby - Hopefully, 2016 will be hobby playtime!!!

Here is how I get away with it for 6-8 months at a time. The Boss says blah blah blah needs to get done and I reply thats a Winter Project, if it's the Summer and it's a Summer project if it's Winter. Works like a charm since I hide the list she writes out as a reminder to herself. LMAO

There are those two ideal weeks in the spring and again in fall when it's not too hot and not too cold. Those are the best car work days.
