on my 83 olds wagon ( i know not a Gbody) im trying to remove the vynal wood grain sticker thingy. a friend and i used a heat gun to do the drivers side it went well and took about four hours taking a few brakes during. but the pasenger side must have be the side of the car that sat in the sun for 30 years because the vynal is just falling apart in small pieces. i think we spent about three hours and got half a door done. if any one has tips to speed up removal with out destroying the paint underneath, i do not mind damage to the paint i just wouldlike to put off having to paint the car for a little while longer. any tips tricks or ideas would be helpfull.

If the wood is still in good shape a heat gun or hair dryer helps a lot. If it's faded out and dry get out the WD40 and some razor blades. I've done it once...and vowed never to do it again. Spent every evening for a week after work to do the below...

i helped my friend with his and we used a water pressure and it worked great

use a heat gun but dont stay to long in one spot

I doubt it. If a heat gun isnt working buy some eraser wheels for a drill those wont hurt the paint. I use them all the time at work for stuff like this

If you care about the peice use a course peice of sand paper followed by a scuffy pad. I wouldnt recommend using a water pressure though.
