When I bought this car I was told this top was fairly new. While inspecting the car I noticed several rust spot under the paint around the chrome trim. After a lil while of searching for the top and side trim pieces I noticed a new hole in the roof. So after some deliberation I figured I'd tackle this on my own. Stripped it off, took it down to bare metal and threw some bondo on it. Gotta say I hate this car without the vinyl top but it's growing on me. Now I just need a T-Top roof lol

RPO list in the trunk says it did. But I'm not 100% on whether it did or not. Thanks though. First time using bondo lol

Yes sir! Gotta do some more sanding on the bondo tomorrow so aol have to hit it again.

ok, someone correct me on this but do all cutlasses vinyl top or not have that chrome trim on the rear window? I thought only non vinyl top cars had that trim there.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but did you just bondo over the rust? You know that the rust will continue to spread, right? Ask me how I know.... 🙁

ya hate to say but you need to be replacing the metal or your work will be all for nothing. the rust will surely continue to progress; simply put, bondo fixes nothing.

That car did not roll off the assembly line with a vinyl top.

Unfortunately, they were popular add-ons...

A layer of fiberglass filler like DuraGlass over the holes first might've been a good idea, but even that will still allow the rust to progress.

Welding up the holes, or patching the entire section is the best way to fix it.

doesnt look like a stick top to me. the trim going down the top front of the quarter panel is different. looks like regal trim.
