Well, any car that you cut the roof up will flex unless its well reinforced. My old fox body mustang t-top woud flex so bad pulling in an out of my driveway that the roof panels would pop out of the seals....lol
DAMN...thats enough imo to not want t-tops

T-tops rock, I can't stand driving a Cutlass without them.
My 85 442 is a hard top and I'm about ready to chop the roof and weld in a t-top roof... but most likely I'll probably sell this car and put the money into my other projects since it's a big undertaking and I need to thin the heard a little.
Leaks can be fixed, I'd rather live with that problem...

I upgraded the factory welds and boxed the frame, put urethane body bushings so there is virtually no flex in the frame. I can jack one corner of the car up and the gap between the door and body does not change. My t-tops did leak but I have new components and seals to install so I'll see what it's like after. But even if they do leak a little there is nothing like a t-top open on a hot day..

Amen 😀

Cutting that roof into the qtrs is going to be a major undertaking, being old body man, I would replace tha bad part of the qtr panel skins then cut the roof through the sail panels. It will be a nice ride either way! 8)
