I've seen what some people say is in "good shape"......if it's too far for you to go look at it then see if someone on the forum would do you a favor

I seen the pictures and it looks GOOD just wondering what the body is worth.THANKS

you need to get under the car to see what it's worth...and a magnet on the body if it looks too good. How much is he asking?

Since the original engine and transmission is gone -- so is the collector value as a 442. I wouldn't treat it as anything more than a comparable Cutlass shell. If it's in truly "good shape" it wouldn't be worth more than $1000 in my area. Maybe $1500 if it has an 8.5" in it. They just aren't that rare around here and our stuff isn't rusty. '80s vintage Cutlass drivers are common under $2000.

It has the 8.5 rear end in it and he wanted $2500 but he said he will not take less than $2000 for it.

that's why you need to see the bottom of the doors, under the car and the frame. If there is no more than surface rust then I think it's worth the $2,000

Yeah I will ask him about the rust and he said he don't have a title to the car nor do I think he has any papers on it what do you think about that, dont want to but a stolen 442.

If he has no title and no paperwork then he doesn't own it. If he doesn't own it -- he shouldn't be selling it.

All that aside, Just apply some backwards math. What's a restored 442 worth? 10, maybe 12K? Could you restore that car for 8-10K? I don't know about you, but I don't think I could do it. So, to me, $2500 is definitely too much.
YMMV.
