How sturdy are gbody roofs when they flip?

Thanks for all the input guys, i still really hate the idea of cramming even a 4 point in there. anyone ever heard of using the seat backrest as a stop to keep the roof from fully collapsing in on you? seems like a no brainer. maybe some late model seats are strong enough?

What are you planning to do that causes you concern about a G body roll over? Regarding the seat saving you you'll need to beef up the floor pan

For normal driving you shouldn't have to worry about it.But if get crazy and or race the car .Then put a roll cage in it.

Well l guess l may as well have an opinion as l just bought an 8 point.

I don't expect to ever drag but yet my evil twin likes to go fast at times, very fast infact.

I got a camaro that's fast an if l could put a rollbar in it l would but my 6'3" 340lbs just gets in it now. But l am also building a Monty SS an it's getting a rollbar with solid weldin an should have no problem getting in. If you think your size is going to be an issue buy one with the front bars removable, so you just remove them an then pin them back in!

I wasn't sure l was going to add this in about how cheesy are the roofs of a g-body, well l'd say ask my cousin Aris but you can't. In 1984 he bought his first g-body got stupid hit a tree so hard that it flip up and hit the tree putting his head threw the roof an when the car fall back to the ground well you figure out what happen. Atleast that's what the police incendent said, closed casket!!

Roll bars are not going to change your current headroom but will tie the body to the frame and make the car more rigid but with door bars it is a little harder to get in and out.
Attempting to use a seat as roll over protection would probably end up with you being crushed by the seat when it folds over on you when the roof collapses.
