I am starting to sift through all of the vacuum lines on my '83 H/O and I cannot seem to find much information regarding this piece.

What is it? What does it do? I have the part that attaches there but I don't know what it does or where it is supposed to connect to. Right now it is connected to the rear center of the carb, but that looks incorrect according to the vacuum diagrams that I have with the car.

Thanks!

P.S. Sorry if the photo is huge! I uploaded it with my iPhone.

That's the EGR valve. It takes combustion gases and feeds them back into the intake to be burned again to reduce emissions. If you're asking where the vacuum line goes to, I think a vacuum port on the carburetor would would work fine. Hopefully someone else chimes in that knows where it is connected in particular.

What your pointing to is the pocket in the exhaust crossover area of the intake for the choke warm up tube. The actual warm up tube is not shown in the image but bolts onto the intake in that location. Vacuum is pulled through the warm up tube and into the choke spring. IIRC, the EGR is on the drivers side.

Choke stove, one tube runs to the rear of the carb and the other attaches to the choke itself.

Are thinking it's a SBC intake?....I was....:blam:

That is actually how it is connected right now I believe. But the connection going to the rear of the carb is very loose so I have a feeling it is not working properly.

Now, according to this vacuum diagram how exactly does it connect to the rear of the carb? There's another line that looks like it is supposed to go to the same spot that attaches to the EFE TVS and the EAC/EAS valves...

Yes, I was. I guess it must be the choke stove.

I apologize for the misinformation T.Wagner.

I understand this choke stove connects to the rear of my carb but according to the diagram above there are other vacuum lines that are supposed to attach there. How exactly do I connect this to my carb? Does anyone have any photos they could share?

Thanks!
