picked up a complete set of interor pieces and wanted to know how to dye them to the color i want. its for a 84 hurst and was also wondering where to get the correct color. thanks

SEM paints. Just be sure you clean up the pieces with soap and water with a shot of ammonia. The cleaner they are the better the paint will stick. Their website has a color chart.http://semproducts.com/Catalog.asp?prod=190

X2 for the SEM products. I've also had good results with the Plasti-Kote's vinyl paint in rattle cans. As Bonnewagon states, preparation is the key. Scrub clean, scuff with a Scotch Brite pad, scrub again, and carefully check for and glossy areas you may have missed. When it comes to painting vinyl or plastic, there's no such thing as too much prep work.

X3 for SEM! dyed my grey interior pieces black. Cleaned thoroughly, scuffed with 600grit(iirc), sprayed SEMs adhesion promoter, then dyed with 2+ coats of black. Came out nice.

What color is it you need? Hurst Gold? The SEM website is not the last word. My color is Regal Blue (discontinued) and I found a case of it in a body shop supply place.

That color chart is lame. Other sites that sell SEM have better ones like this. The 15063 burgundy may be it, but you would probably need to see a can up close to be sure. The cap color is usually dead on.
