How to make the check engine light go out?

FE3X After 85 did all models have the remote lamp control module or just those with the optional gauge cluster? I thought that the majority of models did not have that. Thats why I suggested looking for the ground that way the dash doesnt have to be pulled out.

It must have been all of them because my '87 had the granny pack gauges, not the rally pack.
 
Knew there had to be a reasonable answer. Thanx guys. I think there are a few wires on 2 connectors down by the old computer compartment that I believe is one of the wires that need to be grounded. I believe it might be the white/green stripe. Gonna check it 2morrow.
 
Cut a piece of electrical tape the same size as the 'check engine' light, stick it on top and you're good. That's what I did on my old Bonneville lol.

If you do it from the backside, you won't even see the piece of tape. 😉
