coulda been coolant that fell out the intake when i took it off
So you haven't even run it yet?

yea i bought a whole truck and ran it in the truck seemed fine now when im getting it ready i noticed coolant behind spark plug number 1, i ment when i took the fuel injected intake off to put the carb intake

so far besides that everything is working out perfect, everything is fitting like a glove except hood wouldnt close because fan was hitting hood but it came out a pick up, took a fan out a 80 f body and it fits perfect i can even use a shroud now  i thought cause i used the burbans clam shell mounts i wouldnt be able too but its looking like the g body gm shoulda made 8)

That's what I was asking. Did you run it after the intake swap or just notice the coolant before it had been started but after the intake swap.

Also, make sure the fans match the rotation of the water pump. If you got the fan from an '80 Fbody it would have been a V belt system that spins clockwise. If you still have the serpentine system from the truck you will need a counterclockwise fan. Otherwise you will be blowing air at the radiator instead of pulling air through it.
