Sounds similar to my story on the wagon. Been in the family the whole time, kept in a garage most of its life. Circumstances changed, and it needed to be moved. I named it & claimed it. Glad I did! Keep us updated!

Ive lurked a little while and have read your story, it is what sparked me to join! thanks man.

So this is what my elky currently looks like . The bug is gone so no more diverted attention. But my inspiration is below..
IMG_0297.JPG
I won't do the black on top and bottom it will stay brown , but I may choose a richer brown color .
She is currently sitting on 16" Irocs, the tears took a 1.5" spacer in the back to space correctly. The front fit fine with rubbing only at full lock... the rear will get a slightly taller tire and the front will get 2" drop spindles eventually.

I'll try to remember to post everything at once. buuuuut. I'll have to dig up the photos of my 87 when new parked next to what was my dads 69 elky. both gold, but when the 69 was dads it was your 70's coolness, dodge starlight blue, cragar mach 8 wheels, side pipes on the rockers, white flat shell, and jacked up in the rear. he ended up trading it to grandpa for a 51 3100 pickup, and has regretted it ever since. grandpa promptly put it back to stock configuration and it became a "farm truck". he sold it a few years later after he found i believe it was a 84 diesel el camino.. he loved that diesel.... probably more so than the 87. but anyway.

Welcome! I've always had a soft spot for the four eyed Camino's! They were what I really wanted but couldn't find one so ended up with a '78. That was 19 years ago....
