I live in Kentucky and have two G-bodies.
I have my old high school (1986) car a 79' 2 dr.Malibu.It was a 3 speed stick with a v6,air delete originally,but now has a 355 small block,3 speed turbo 350,and a 12 bolt 4:88 rearend.
It's in the middle of a long frame swap and restoration (since 1994)
yeah it's been too long,but also a long story.
Neat thing I used to run it at a local track with lots of success and have ran it at Indy and Bristol,once getting 2nd place at the 1991 World Bracket Finals.
Oh and I meet my future wife while cruising in it one night.
The second car was my late Dad's ole' 1978 Malibu wagon.
He bought it in 1985 to fix it up to bracket race.It was a 305 auto car,with air delete.
We built a 355,beefed up the transmission and put a GN w/3:42 gears under it.
He ran it with a whole lot of success until 2007.He found out he had cancer in Dec.2007,and passed away just before race season started in 2008 😢
I've only raced it once since he passed,and that was Nov.2008,and it has set in the garage since.
I do plan on doing some work to it,and try and get it out before this season is over.
Well for me,I'm 41,have two teenagers 17 and 14,a wife and work with 3,500+ h.p. everyday...Oh I'm an Engineer on a class 1 railroad :lol: .That's why I can't get anything done on my cars :? .
