This car is an upgrade from a 1978 Chevette that was hacked up to install a 350 and a T5 including a notch in the front subframe. LMAOThe aluminum are worse than the steel, and I've seen some of both so corroded on a number of the hundreds I chopped and/or rebuilt that photo sized sheets of metal could be broken off by hand.
Still, you need all the help you can get, especially given the lack of unibody structure in the front end. When the bumper doesn't absorb force, that sheet metal collapses in on itself if you look at it funny.
There's honestly a good chance this front bumper will never make it back onto my car. I have a Grand National bumper with a beautiful rust free steel reinforcement.
