I know some of hunt and thought I'd start a thread. I live in Central NY, hunting this weekend in Northern NY, no luck yet. Anyone else tag their buck yet?

Glad you started this thread! Was thinking about doing it myself.
Working six days a week at my new job has put a real damper on going out. Plus I lost access to a piece of property I've hunted for years. Feel like I'm starting over.
Taking next Friday off, and not working the OT on Saturday. Will get a couple days out right when pre- rut is starting!

Only thing I've seen this weekend was a flock of turkey, called this guy to within 10 yards.

Well, made it to my long weekend!
Wish the temps weren't going to 80.
Get up, go in the morning, get back out in the afternoon. Then play Saturday by ear, depending on the weather.
Even if I watch leaves fall, it's better than work!

Temps are supposed to plummet overnight to mid 40's. Tomorrow and Sunday day should be good days!
Haven't got out yet, will probably just wait till shotgun season at this point. A few friends of mind have reported slim pickings so far on the deer. Fingers crossed that as the temp starts dropping more and more in November the activity comes up a bit.
Saw a good group of turkey Sunday morning while out on a cow elk hunt. Unfortunately, it is a very dry year and the elk are not out and about, so my draw week was without success. The canyon we started exploring late in the week will need further exploration over the next year. The trails into it are something I will map over that time so there's no concern about getting the elk out.
