hey guys! I know I've been asking a lot of questions but I've been really trying to hammer out small details while I have time off.... so I've got the Parts Place hurst dual gate 2 reproduction for Camaro's and firebirds and also scored a modified g body cutlass console top plate which is slick as hell. I was just starting to get into it today and was curious if anyone else has put this shifter in a g body with a center console before? I know i'm going to have to cut the center console which isn't a big deal since its kinda beat up. but as far as mounting to the floor does anyone have any insight as far as how to get it done as clean as possible? also is there anything I need to know about neutral safety switch back up lights etc? thanks guys!

factory option

I know the 79 hurst olds' had them but now that i'm retrofitting a 4 speed automatic dual gate from the 80's f-body into a factory gbody console I wasn't sure if some has done the 4 speed OD swap ever and had some insight before I start hacking away

Wow!!!! I didn't know the shifter was made for a 4 speed auto that is sweet!!!

Is this the plate you have?

i'll take any pictures and info I can get! thanks! ..I have that top plate but i'm not going to use it and I have a factory g-body cutlass top plate that was combined with that f-body top plate that I found on ebay a while back so it would be seamless in the interior i'll try to take a few pics. thanks again guys!

thanks clutch! it helps for sure, I can kind of see how the front bracket appears, the rear on mine MAY line up with the factory shifter so I may not have to fabricate anything too much, if I can score a set of factory brackets I think it would work flawlessly
