Hurst dual gate install questions

I know this is an old thread but this is what I did. converted a 3peed 79 HO shifter to a 4 speed Dual gate from an F body, basically took 2 and made 1. All most OEM looking.

Looking for 79 DG top plates and F body DG 4 speed shifters if ya got some laying around

Thats fantastic. My plans are similar. Did you use a 4speed dual shifter and modified the top plate? Or did you modify a 3speed shifter and buy the top plate? Looks great.
