Because the shifter indicator is not lit up at night like the Salons/Calais 442 models allowing you to know what gear you are in.
One way you can tell if it's a real H/O is that indicator, regular 4 speed indicators for column shift cars have the 1 spaced out farther from the 2 as such: PRN@D2 1 H/O's have the 1 close to the 2: PRN@D21
