Well winter is coming up and i refuse to let the cutlass rot
So my dads boss had this grand prix sitting in his yard nothing wrong with it he just did drive it
So my dad asked if he could buy it off him
$1000 bucks and i have a new daily driver!
now i can start ripping apart the cutlass and get my build going (expect a build thread)

its a 2001 Grand Prix GT 2dr
i know not what you guys were expecting and its not a g-body
but i just had to share it

the good
1. it has more balls than my cutlass
2. everything works
3. it runs great
4. itll save my cutlass from the salt trucks
5. It was only $1000

the bad
1. 180k miles
2. hole in the front bumper
3. Paint is pealing just a bit

I like the styling and if they was RWD I would have grabbed me a supercharged bonneville to play with during the winter...you got a good deal, congrats

Yea the FWD part sucks but it'll get me around in the snow a little easier.
Im sure it'll see its fair share of vacant parking lots too lol
Maybe a couple taco bell food trays too gah that's fun.
Anyone ever tray drifted before?
If not you should try it (safely)
Just take 2 food trays set the back wheels on em pull that e-brake and go.

I love these cars, and those 3.8L motors are nothing to joke about.
congrats!

just thinking... if it's been sitting alot, I would recommend a small tuneup. Those motors are sturdy if you keep up on maintainece. Change the plugs (this might be a b*tch to do... you'll need to get underneath the car), wires, do an oil change, and put in a new airfilter. It'll run even smoother, and wake up a few ponies too.

Well his daughter has been driving it back and forth to school so it hasn't been sitting for a while.
He just bought her a new car about 3 weeks ago so that's how long its been sitting.
Plus he just got a tune up on it about 2 months ago he showed me the recept and they did oil, air filter, plugs, wires, rotated and balanced tires, and did an alignment. So non of that really needs to be done.
Just turn key and go car go.
Its pretty fun seeing as how I've been dealing with the dead weight 3.8 in my cutlass for so long.
But that'll change during winter when I drop the 350 in it and hopefully ill have it ready by summer to cruise around.

I did the same thing last fall. Found an Olds Intrigue with under 100K on craigslist for $1,000. Been a good car so far, 17mpg in my daily commute, comfortable, reliable and more guts than my 305. Just for grins, go visit some of the various W-body forums. All I will say is you'll appreciate the members here even more.

Never tried that one (though I have never owned a fwd), what we used to do back in hs, was tie two plastic sleds the the rear bumper, one on each side, then go find big, vacant, unplowed parking lots. It was dumb, but watching your friends duke it out (we used to watch american gladiator  ) while trying to stay on their sled while I ripped doughnuts and figure 8's was hysterical (yes we wore helmets), and thankfully nobody ever got hurt. We looked at it like tubing but with no boat, and no lake  .

We used to do that with a 4-wheeler and a knee board in the front yard lol
good times good times

hell you dont even need snow for tray drifting though
taco bell makes some pretty sturdy food trays they'll last you about 10 or 15 big slides then there done for

but there not hard to sneak out of the store
so grab a couple pairs of em and you got a whole days worth of fun
