It already has the harness plugged into the back of the player but i dont know which wires are what. Heres what im looking at;
13 wires:
1. green
2. green w/ black stripe
3. gray
4. gray w/ black stripe
5. white
6. white w/black stripe
7. purple
8. purple w/ black stripe
9. orange w/ white stripe
10. blue w/ white stripe
11. black
12. red
13. yellow (for some reason the red and yellow wires have been twisted together by the previous owner)

So i know the first 8 are the speakers, but i dont know which speaker each is for, and i dont know which wires are battery, illumination, etc

black-ground
red-power
depends on the maker but either orange or yellow is your 12 volt source for your memory.
blue/white stripe- remote wire, turns your amp on when the radio comes on

what brand and model is the radio?

Shouldn't i be able to see my cd player at least power on just by hooking up illumination and battery constant? I hooked up those (atleast the ones i think are those) and i dont see anything.

all the car wires are harnessed together already and on the other end of that harness there are wires coming out and all of those have labels saying what they are. I am assuming all i have to do is twist those wires together with the correct wires from the cd player harness but im not seeing anything when i connect the battery constant, accessory, and illumination wires. Maybe my twisting skills are just sub-par.

here is a link for the instruction manual,

http://books.jvcservice.com/booklist.asp?Model=KD-SX780

It will tell you the radios wiring diagram, and i beleave that someone else allready posted a car side diagram.

Also, has your stock wiring been cut already, or does it still have the plugs on it?
If the plugs are still there, go buy the wiring adapter.

All hooked together (except for speakers) wires coming out of both harnesses twisted together with elec. tape

Plugs that i think are the originals going into harness

This is what those plugs look like pulled out of the harness, are they the originals?
