I hate New England

IMO the NFL does not care if there is bad or good publicity, all they want is for people to be talking about the NFL cause they know how to turn that into $$$$$$$$$$$

I think that lawsuit has gained some weight....

"Taking action nearly a week after a controversial play in last weekend’s NFC Championship Game, the NFL on Friday fined Los Angeles Rams defensive back Nickell Robey-Coleman more than $26,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on New Orleans Saints receiver Tommylee Lewis. "

The fine was due of the NFL policies surrounding the helmet to helmet hits, not because of the lawsuit. I'm sure they determined it wasn't an accidental hit. But the interference non-call remains. No challenges allowed and the teams cannot protest. NFL commissioner can intervene if need be for egregious errors but the caveat is that he cannot if it's due to officiating judgement calls. Or in this case, a no-call. Lawyers are just wasting their time doing a lawsuit. It's an emotional response. The only way that game will be "replayed" will be perhaps in the 2019 regular season if they're scheduled to meet again. Or maybe in next year's playoffs if the two teams make it again.

Regardless, the fine will not soothe the raw nerve endings of the Saints fans.

Moving on....

I realise the fine was not due to the lawsuit and I like the lawsuit with the hope it will expose the NFL for having the referees making calls and missing calls to affect the outcome of the game.

Officials blowing calls or making phantom calls determining outcomes of games has been going on since organized sports was born. Institute replay after every down, and that should clean up any errors. But nobody wants that. It's my opinion that every missed or errant call throughout the games, whether it's in the first quarter or 4th, can affect the outcome.

This play will live in infamy. However, I think it's important to realize too, that the non-call shouldn't perpetuate a Rams/Saints hate rivalry. It was the officiating crew that blew that call. That won't matter to fans though. Most of them can't see the root cause of the issue, which was the officiating crew sucked. Heck, nobody is complaining about the non-call facemasks to Rams players. There was at least 2. Would that have changed the course of the game where that particular call not mattered? We'll never know, but the Saints fans will never forget. This off season is not going to feel the same way they got stunned by the hail Mary pass from the Vikings last year.

All I can say is "It was a FUMBLE!! F@ck the Patriots and their fans!!" OK. Just teasing. The past is the past. But, for all purposes here, I wouldn't put it past the fact that sports betting is somewhat now considered legal and I am sure that sports in all will get worse calls going forward. Just a thought. Oh and one other thought, I think the Patriots got it made with Goodell as the Commish. Fines and penalties dont mean squat. You have to take away their titles when found guilty. I know they do in the Olympics and other sports if found/caught cheating/breaking the rules. Oh well. Glad this forum has fun outside of cars.

Geez, what a bunch of WHINERS. Face it, your teams owners suck, the coaches suck, the players suck. Mahomes is the future of the game. When Brady is done he and the Chiefs will be the one everyone hates and says cheats and says Goodell is in their pocket. For now, GO PATS!
The Saints go screwed that's now doubt. The officiating of the last few games has been pretty lame. At this time it should be consistent but it's not. Some of that is the crews are all mixed up now. They shouldn't take 5 minutes to decide of these calls with all the technology and videos.
