Good point. On the intake manifold end seals, do not use the rubber or cork pieces. Use Ultra Black silicone or the Right Stuff (which is better), and run a bead slightly larger than 1/4 thick. Let it tack up for about 10 min., then install. Much better seal that way. Even GM went to that system.

Head gaskets don't usually leak oil to the outside of the engine but will put antifreeze into the oil. Its possible though. Pull the plugs and see if u have a clean one that looks brand new. If so, then a blown head gasket or cracked head. The antifreeze steam cleans a plug.

Could do a block test also. Pretty simple, blue liquid and air from the cooling system mix. If exhaust is present, it'll turn yellow. No combustion it'll stay blue and heads are good. It doesn't test the water to oil passages, though.

Coolant will also scrap main bearings in a hurry causing loss of oil pressure. If u blew a head gasket and have coolant in the oil, then u may have bigger probs than what u can see.

the oil leaking is from the front main seal i twisted my balancer so its a litlle off balance now i guess that happens when your motor can rev up to 9500 rpms with no problem

So the leak is coming from the front main seal on the crank? What did you do to "twist" the balancer? I'm a little confused... and what kind of SBC do you have that can rev to 9K?!?!?!? What kind of compression ratio do you have?

Pull the balancer and replace the seal. Pretty straight forward. And replace the balancer with something better. The OE part isn't made for anything above 5K RPM. I've only seen 1 grenade, but a few slip on the elastmer ring. Professional Products makes a good SFi approved balancer with a reasonable cost or just buy the high dollar one. I'm not going to dispute 9K RPM on a SBC because I know its possible, but not with stock parts. U may want to check the Tach and make sure it hasn't been set up for a 4 or 6cyl.

my motor is not stock it was built its the original lt1 the tach that was hooked up was a factory in the 84 gp which had was a stock 305 v8 it didnt say 9500 but it went all the way to the r in rpm before i shifted i can do 70 on the freeeway and down shift to 2nd and stomp on it or at least i could till gaskets went

Whats it show for idle? My built engine built with lightweight parts still screams at 6500. Valve float and smashed valves/pistons will happen. I think your tach is wrong. A SBC that can turn 9500 RPM would be built for racing only and wouldnt exactly be streetable. NASCAR engines are pushing the limits and they turn about 9000 RPM with 800 Horse.

9500 RPM would necessitate a lightweight forged crank, lightweight H-Beam rods, a top end balancer, hardened pushrods, heavy valve springs that would wipe out a regular cam, solid lifter engine, etc...... BIG Money. I think your tach is wrong. Maybe someone replaced it with a V6 tach, possibly.
Also, the alternator isn't designed for that kind of RPM unless underdrive pulleys are used, belt slippage, and water pump cavitation with stock pulley.

a motor that makes power at 9500rpm would make no power at all down low, making it a total dog on the street. the tach in my brothers 86GP did the same thing, i could make it point straight down but i know it wasnt turning anymore than 5k maybe. get yourself a new tach.

well the motor is not in the gp anymore its in my regal . the tach idled right . beleive me this motor is not at all stock it moves it has blown up 4 rearends . when i get back on the sreet i will have a autometer tach and a b&m quicksilver shifter and all new gaskets and a new balancer i hope to have this done by june 15 there is a car show in sauk rapids mn and they have a drag strip well see how she does.
