I took out the ugly splitting back seat, old crusty sound deadening and wornout speakers in my malibu today. I plan on relocating the battery to the spot where the back seat passenger sat. I also plan on putting in a 6 point cage. My problem is now I have a big gaping hole to the trunk area where I plan on putting a fuel cell. I think I'm going to clean up the area and then metal screw sheet aluminum to it. It won't look like a hack job when I'm done. I'm curious what other people have done. Pictures would be helpful.

theres a guy who bagged his regal, and when he did it he had to raise the tunnel so he welded up that whole area, looked pretty good.
Im sure he will post or someone will post his pictures.

Was the seat two peices? because I am stumped at how to get the top peice off of my regal.

The bottom was harder for me to get out than the top. After I got the bottom out. There was two bolts that hold it and seat belts down. After that, just push it up toward the roof and it should come right out.

I think aluminum would be the most practical way of doing it. It still looks good and doesnt take much to get it in. If you want to make it look really good try some fiberglass or something like that.

I think I'm going to stick with aluminum for light weight and that race car vibe. Maybe. Unless someone shows me something else that catches my eye.
