i was thinking today(something i dont normally do)about a new design of intake manifold. if youve ever seen a motorcycle engine youve seen that the cylinder housing is ribbed to release heat from the engine. what if you did the same thing with an intake manifold to reduce the intake air temp? and maybe to even get better intake cooling, why not put a fan ot it like a heat sink for a computer? just an idea, what do you think?

i wouldn't be very effective because heat isn't really getting disapated under the hood, would work great if you have no hood or a scoop

yeah a scoop would be a must for that to work other wise its just getting the same heat thats in the engine bay.

could it work? sure, but it won't do much more than an airgap. motorcycles rib the cyl housing/heads because they don't (usually) have cooling systems. VW beetles (the real ones!) have the ribs on them for the same reason. but on a liquid cooled car they aren't efficient enough and would require extra material and thus extra cost and weight.
