I have had this car for 10 years now and the common problem that I am having is knowing what they consider the name for the color of interior I have?? I have made mistakes when ordering parts in the past and dont want that happening again!!

These are a couple of sample pics of the color interior I have in my car. The seats are not the same as mine but the rest is spot on! Thanks for your help!

It's gonna be called something different from year to year, that's just marketing spew. 78-87 pretty much sums up the whole G-Body population. What specific year do you have?

And that is the problem I am having. I ordered something in an oxblood color from Dixie Monte Carlo and when I received it I realized it was way off!! So now I need to find the right color. I have always found that the oxblood, dark Maroon, whatever they want to call the color is to be a color you found in the 1983 and G-body cars. The year I have is 1981 and would assume it was a carry over color from 1980 and before. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated, just need to figure out what to order. Here is a pic of my interior from like 6 years ago, got nothing recent, but color is the same.

Wonder if the color is referred to as "Claret"?
Have you been able to find any build sheets or codes behind/under the rear seat, above the headliner or on a trunk lid sticker?
If it turns out to be claret and you need parts, I have quite a few kicking around here you can have dirt cheap....

Actually there is 3 different shades of burgundy/maple used in 78-88 Montes. 78-80 used a brighter red, 81-84 has the color shown, and 85-87/88 was the darker burgundy that seems to be the most common. I've heard so many different names for the 81-84 color (I do have a 81 in the same color) I believe that GM called it medium claret

I have had the car apart many times and no such luck in finding any build sheets. The owner before me painted the car and I could tell had it completely apart. Still restoring some of the damage he caused. The problem I am having is that I ordered a dash from Dixie Monte Carlo and was assuming ( my mistake!) the color that they were shown on the site would be what I received, but it was not. I ended up receiving the Darker color claret I guess????? Now I am just confused as I have no idea what to order now. I am returning the dash and want to get the proper color, but every other red they offer the image is not available!

For what it's worth, here's all of the interior colors for the 81 Malibu interior. Now, if you take the rear seat out or one of the front buckets, more than likely there's gonna be a stamped tag on one of the covers. That tag should match up with one of the colors. If it has a part number, give us the number and we'll tell you what the color is. I assume you've already removed the two front door panels and looked for the build sheet?
