hi guy/girls, after my heatercore replacement, i now have a idle problem. I am soo new with carbs, I am not sure how to adjust the air fuel mixture, and I don't understand how fixing my heater core fudged up my idle. It runs fine, but it shakes like a have a 455 and a super aggressive cam at idle, its kind of cool, but i know its not good so i would like to fix it.

I flushed my radiator maybe 5 times before replacing the core. The car stays cool as a cat now, as i drove it back and forth from work to home and it was 80 out yesterday, and as usually i got caught in nyc traffic, which is everyday.

so could it be the air/fuel mixture or the idle screw. I have no idea where either are, i have a Rochester qjet and its on a 307.

the carb, is old, but i never had this problem before. I rather not pull the carb cause its my daily driver back and forth to school.

If the idle problem did not exist before the heater core replacement, then I would say that you've either knocked a vacuum line loose or incorrectly connected them. Check this BEFORE adjusting anything.

He's right. Must be a vac leak. Try to smother top of carb with your hand. See if that raises idle or smooths it out. To locate idle leak; Spray carb cleaner all around top of engine where vac line are routed. You will hear idle change when you spray the correct area. Than dig for a broken or cracked hose.

good luck

Yea, it was a loose line connected to the vacum circle. Works great now. Thanks again guys.
